Safety is our main concern on out trips, because of this we need our customers to have the following item to ensure that.
All customers must have valid Mexican auto insurance for the duration of there time in Mexico, this is important for your security in case of on accident and safe return to the USA.
We recommend Baja Bound Mexican Insurance company, there are many others and you are free to select you own, you must show you coverage at the meet location.
We require all customers to have a working 2 way VHF radio that will work in the 151.625 or 151.820 range, this means the radio must have the MARS Mod we recommend a 50watt unit but understand if this will be the only you might use it, a 8 watt hand held will work as we run in a tight group, check out this unit from Amazon,
Our runs are a mix of hotels and camping, it is your responsibility to bring all needed camping gear, cooking equipment and food, in hotels stays we will cover all meals,
Most of our trips (unless stated at time of posting) are overland trips and are not hard core rock climbing, saying that there will be trails a basic rig will have to work at, we try to take roads and trail all overland setup rigs will manage fine, lifts are nice but good offroad tire are the most important thing, you should go over your rig before the run to ensure it is in top condition, air compressor and flat repair kits are a must have, along with oil, radiator fluids and probably a fan belt and radiator hoses. Be properad and we will all get home safe
We will do our best to keep the groups together and in radio contact but people do get separated a little and you might miss a turn? we would like everyone to have a GPS of some type, we will email out tracks in GPX and KLM format before the trip, there are many option with basic GPX viewers, my hope is as an Overlander you will have a good GPS already.
A good and inexpensive option is to install the app, Maps.me on your phone or Pad, in both iPhone and Android, this is a free app and once you have the app installed you can download the map for north Baja, when we send you the track in KLM format and you download it, click on the file and select Maps.me as the app to open it in, you have a great map and the track.
If you have the App and map installed and have at least downloaded the file we send we can help you set it up on day 1,
